Sociocultural and historical context of Ebola virus disease and the response: Education
The overall goal of workpackage 2 is to ensure that the overall project is culturally sensitive, gender-aware, and reflexive.
- Build trust in on-going efforts to respond to the epidemic by ensuring that research and interventions aimed at containing the EVD epidemic are grounded in an in-depth understanding of the social and historical context.
- Stress and address the gendered aspect of the epidemic.
- Develop and ensure an on-going critical reflection on science in an emergency, to identify ethical and practical problems and their solutions and disseminate lessons learned going forward.
